Feature: Three Women’s Road Bikes

The ever expanding range of women-specific bikes has been a major feature of the last few years and we’ve got some interesting and contrasting designs in the shop at the moment. We’ll be looking at some more women’s bikes in the next few days, but we’ll start with three bikes that offer a lot of performance and high specification, yet are also within reach of most budgets and adaptable enough to handle anything from a family ride through to entry level Road, Sportive or Triathlon events.

First up is the Liv Avail 5 – Liv is the women’s specific brand of the Giant company. Specification includes ALUXX-Grade Aluminum Frame, AluminumAlloy OverDrive Steerer Fork, Shimano Claris 16 speed drive train with FSA Tempo chainset, Dual Pivot brakes and the tough Giant S-R2 wheel set. The next bike is the Liv Avail 1, which is at the top of the Avail range. This bike’s spec includes ALUXX SL-Grade Aluminum Frame with composite D-Fuse seat post, Advanced-Grade Composite fork with Hybrid OverDrive Steerer, Shimano 105 22 speed drive train with FSA Gossamer chain set, Tektro TK-R540 Giant Specific, Dual Pivot brakes and Giant P-R2 wheel set. Finally, we’ve got the Specialized Dolce Elite Disc – The Dolce Comp has an E5 alloy frame with Women’s Endurance Geometry, plus Zertz for a responsive, yet forgiving ride. The 10 speed Shimano Tiagra compact drivetrain delivers smooth, fast and efficient shifting performance.
